a tenacious little flower

I never cease to be amazed by this hearty little columbine flower. We did not plant this flower. it just showed up one spring a couple years ago and started growing (yea, yea, I know all about seeds floating in air and all that stuff, but it distracts from the story). And look where it's embedded itself. It's taken root in a landscaping nail hole at the edge of our patio. I pull any grass or weeds (almost one in the same) that encroaches upon it, but other than that, it gets no special treatment. It even seeded itself in two new crannies of our patio this spring. They must get just enough sun.
