somebody thinks it's spring

The last few days the temperatures have stayed above freezing during the day. The snow melt was noticeable. The back yard was turning into a swamp with a snow cover. It's a great time to check out animal tracks. It was so nice that I was calculating the number of days before I could get out in the yard and weed, or pick up stuff, or dig up plants, or anything involving plants and dirt. Some of our day lilies and daffodils which face south and are close to the house think that spring is just around the corner. Well nature has a sense of humor because it started to snow while I was taking the pictures and we can expect 6 inches or so.

Oh, that would have been ironic. Checking out your "spring" shoots and it starts to snow. Been there! I've come to the conclusion that mother nature is a temptress. How else can you not have a primal scream at a moment like that?

I think the plants are taking a peek, just to see if it's safe to come up or not! Or maybe they are as impatient for spring as the rest of us. Take heart: spring will come!

Maybe they'll be ok? It snowed 8 inches all over mine, and they still bloomed lol.

That is typical, just enough green to tempt us into a spring nearing and then wham we get more snow. Just not right. LOL!

Oh dear....will the snow stop long enough for your spring shoots to come up?

Don't you love when the daylilies and daffodils first peek out of the ground?!! (Even if they may be jumping the gun.) Here in Florida, the daylilies are evergreen, but I remember the days of walking around searching for any green.

Jim, the same thing has been happening here. It is really up and down this year, isn't it.

I had a similar experience when I decided the snow was over and started to dig. Within seconds we had a mini blizzard! It just sucks you in, and smacks you on the nose!
