for Pat

It’s been too wet to work outside, but not too wet to take pictures. Pat’s out with Katie and the girls so she is missing out on the garden coming to life. I am behind on garden work. It could be the weather or the trip to see the girls (I will refer to our granddaughters as “the girls” in all future writing, unless Pat or Katie tells me not). I think the real reason is that Pat is missing. I work better when Pat is around to tell me what to do. The pots and rabbits are still on the patio. What do I fill them up with and where do I put them. These are decisions I have never made. Maybe I will make a monument of pots and rabbits, something really garish, just this side of tacky.
Since Pat can’t be with the plants, I am bringing the plants to Pat.

I'm sure Pat will enjoy seeing the garden coming alive via your photos. I know you must be so glad to see so much greening up and filling out. I think it's all looking great.

Hang in there and pretty soon Pat will be home giving you a helping hand in the gardens.

Happy Gardening ~ FlowerLady

Jim - I hope I one day find a husband that loves me so much as you love Pat :)

Looks like the plants are loving the rain. All the best to you and all your treasures.

Thanks for keeping me updated on the state of the yard. I’m sorry I wasn’t there for the apocalyptic rainstorm. I miss seeing the garden come to life, especially watching the hosta unfurl. I even miss the all those mundane gardening chores I normally grouse about. To compensate, I’m going to plant bushes for Katie this week.

Lovely garden and the hostas are so lush....Pat will still have plenty to do when she returns and those containers will finally be filled...

Your garden is really bursting forth. The hosta under the trees is gorgeous. It is nice the two of you work so well as a team in the garden and life. I have a husband, but no 'Jim' here. Pat is one lucky woman.

Jim, What a nice way to keep Pat updated on what's happening in the garden while she is providing grandmotherly support. BTW, when did you change the name of your blog? (I just noticed it this morning.) -Jean

Look at all of that green and then that spot of lime green really looks pretty in the hostas. Jim how in the world are we ever going to get our gardens planted? Everything is going to be so late this year.

To me, everything looks good. Pat will be pleased by the look of the garden, I am sure.

Your garden is shaping up on its own it seems. Such great texture and form. Know what you mean about having someone around to tell you where to plant things. Rose, I can plant.... All else, is Tina's domain..... Great post.
