animal tracks

The back yard is covered with snow and the snow is covered with animal tracks. The patio seems to have been turned into a condo. There’s a hole in the snow with sunflower husks littered around it. I catch glimpses of Mr. Squirrel popping his head out every once in a while. His every once in a whiles are perfectly timed to find me without a camera. The picture of Mr. Squirrel is from last month, before all the snow. The tracks lead me to believe that he has taken up residence in the upside down strawberry pot. I’ll wait till spring and hope the lease has been terminated.

Jim, I love the whole funny story especially the vision of the lease being terminated. I guess when the snow melts there will be an eviction. Carolyn

That squirrel knows where to go for a meal. LOL! They get hungry this time of the year with so much snow covering the ground.Great shot of the little varmint.

Snowy, snowy land these days. Guess it IS only the first of February!

The squirrels are the ones that are leaving major tracks here, too. From one tree to another... to the bird feeder... to another tree!

Enjoy the watch for now, and your satisfaction when you cause a habitat change in the Spring! ha!

great pictures! i love that you can clearly see the animal tracks in your backyard. reminds me of when we'd go camping and see the deer tracks in the dirt.

Jim, the tracks are great. They remind me of a science lesson I used to teach on animal track identification, kids loved it!
