This weekend was the City of Barberton’s mum festival, so Pat and I went. Barberton is just west of Akron. It was once the match making capital of the world. It now seems to be the mum capital of at least Ohio. The displays have thousands of mum plants. If you count mums by the flower, there must be bazillions. Walking through the displays overloaded your visual senses. There were vendors selling goods, services and yes, funnel cakes.

You two do get around! :-) I confess to not being a good fan of mums. They do have their place, but... I do think I might be persuaded to try a few that look like colorful daisies. Have a great week!
I guess mum's the word. Great post as usual.
Boy, you guys have really been on the move lately much to our benefit. I love seeing all those fairs and the mums are spectacular!

I love the fifth photo Jim! Beautiful! I too have so much respect for sand sculptors! I have seen amazing photos of some in CA. ;>)
Those mum arrangements are almost too much. And since it's on my mind at the moment: what do the makers of that festival do about slugs?? My only attempt at chrysanthemums ended in a slug disaster.
Great post.
I have an intense dislike for chrysanthemums, but I guess that stems from seeing them in horrible gardens - or as horribly stand-out plants in nice gardens like my parents' - and seeing them in droves like this, well... I sort of get the point now.
Who knows; maybe I'll even buy one next spring and put in my own garden. After all, I do like flowers and mums DO deliver on that front.
OMG, just look at all of those mums. If I had known you were going I would have put my order in. LOL! I never saw so many in one spot. Sand sculpting always fascinates me, like ice sculpting. It is such tedious work and they do it so well.
Those waves of mums are incredible. When I mentioned funnel cakes, my husband said, "Let's go."
Great post! The mums are outta site! I'll take two funnel cakes please....
Wow! That is a lot of colour! Thanks for the 'virtual visit' and the chance to see these lovely displays :)
Wow, the colours in those photos are amazing! My eyes are happy.
