feed them and they will come for lunch
Pat and I garden with our house guests in mind. We do not use any chemicals. If it's not good for the boys, it's not good for the guests. We have a constant supply of food and water. The plants and bushes we planted are good for hiding. It all seems to go hand in hand with gardening.
Loved the photos ... and your video clips were great. It was lovely to see the ducks out and about enjoying themselves ... and the bird calls in the background of the second video were just great.

ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on not using chemicals, it just doesn't seem right. not to mention unnecessary and expensive. And to-day, influenced by you, I bought a lovely ligularia przwalskii. Now I don't mind having a bash at latin, but ...

ReplyDeleteSometimes I think a garden is only as good as the wildlife it attracts. If that were so I'd say you're doing a fantastic job of it. What a wonderful amount of activity you must see every day. lucky you.
ReplyDeletePrecious fledglings, and darling chipmunks, and sweet little duckies, and squirrels using their tails for balance before the great dive for the feeder. Adorable shots, Jim. I enjoyed this walk through the fauna among the flora you've planted. :)
ReplyDeleteoooh the photos are lovely. You get some wildlife in your garden for sure! We get the birds, and the occasional rabbit and the bees and the bugs. I saw a racoon up a tree this past weekend. I swear my little 'pond' is drawing a crowd. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood grief, it's like a zoo down there Jim. I hope the squirrel wasn't going for the fledgling chickadee! We don't have chipmunks here, so I really enjoyed that pic.
