camping with the grobles
Pat and I spent a wonderful night camping last weekend. Not that sleeping bag, crawling in and out of tents, cooking over a wood fire kind of camping. We did plenty of that when we were younger. No, this was camping how it should be. We camped at Kridler Gardens in Homeworth Ohio. In the middle of a 100 acre wooded wonderland is this little cabin. Now you might say that what Pat and I were doing was more like staying in a really comfortable hotel. I say nay to that. There was no TV reception and we were in the middle of the woods. It got really, really dark when the sun went down. I had a flashlight, just in case, so it was camping. To top it off, it rained all night. Listening to the rain on the steel roof was very cool. It was a magnificently peaceful time.

What a lovely little cabin in the woods. Cozy and peaceful and I'm sure you both went home refreshed, and you bought some goodies for your gardens too.

Jim, as a child my friends and I used to dig a hole in the prairie across the street and cook out, or make a tent in the backyard and sleep out. But this is certainly my type of camping now. The area looks lovely.

ReplyDeleteI must say, though, you're making me feel as if my home qualifies for a "camping getaway." We, too, live in the woods, surrounded by trees on all sides, right up to the front door, just like in the pictures. And we don't have t.v. reception, either (by choice, of course). Guess we're living in perpetual retreat from the mad world. ;)
Wow, what a beautiful spot. Now that is my kind of camping. Better than a blanket thrown over a clothesline LOL!
